‘Internet communities form’ during online learning programmes - Tefl-chalkboard
Online learning courses do not leave students isolated, as little web communities form during the period of their studies, according to one education expert. Speaking to the Times, Dr Richard Brown, associate dean of curriculum and awards, described how there is a belief that people who choose to study qualifications in this way may find themselves feeling alone. He noted that this is not the norm and claimed that online learning often explains programmes of study with more clarity, since everything is written down for people to refer back to when they need to. Dr Brown was quoted as adding: "People form an online community which gives them the opportunity of contacting and supporting their peers."
