Lee district leaders look at creating their own virtual online learning school - LESLIE WILLIAMS HALE, Naples News
Lee Virtual’s principal, district technology head Al Shilling, said a Lee County franchise would be a logical progression for a district trying to prepare students for success beyond high school. “Ninety percent of four-year public institutions require at least one full-semester online class,” Shilling said. “We want to transition from private providers to a district-provided program — wean ourselves from using their teachers and their curriculum to our own organic program.”
