York High School offering placements for online learning classes to area high-schoolers - Jessey Taylor, Seacoast Online
A relatively new approach to education that first took hold at York High School two years ago is starting to catch on at other local schools. Virtual High School, an accredited educational program that offers a series of online courses, has expanded to R.W. Traip Academy in Kittery, Sanford High School and Massabesic High School in Waterboro, courtesy of York High School. Virtual High School courses are free to students. However, participating schools must purchase a membership and agree to sponsor a course by putting one of its teachers through the program's graduate-level training.
