University of Toledo professor to help craft plan for teaching online learning class about climate change - MEGHAN GILBERT-CUNNINGHAM, Toledo BLADE
As climate change is debated in international politics, a University of Toledo professor is focusing on the science behind it and the best way to communicate that to students. Andy Jorgensen, a chemistry professor, is the lead in a federally funded project to gather the scientific facts on climate change and organize them into teaching materials for undergraduate educators. The National Science Foundation is on board with their effort and is funding the development of education materials with a grant of $1.7 million over three years. The grants pay for the preparation of an online learning network called Climate, Adaptation, and Mitigation e-Learning. NASA also has a dedicated program for climate change.
