Online learning options are expanding for back to school - Janet Steffenhagen, Vancouver Sun
The Labour Day weekend used to mark the end of a two-month holiday for B.C. students and the start of a new academic year in a neighbourhood school catering to several hundred students. But that’s not necessarily the case any more. For a growing number of children and teenagers, there will be no back-to-school experience Tuesday because their textbook learning never stopped over the summer. For others, this year’s classroom will be the dining-room table, a computer screen or a single room with a handful of children in various grades.
