Online Learning New Trend on College Campuses - KION, Salina, CA
Forget the books, and pick up the mouse. A new trend sweeping college communities this year is not on campus, but online. Campuses are all on board because these classes are cheaper to produce, and they are able to offer them to way more students, which means more fees per class. Greg Peterson, Vice President of Student Affairs at Hartnell College says is an easier way to get at higher education. "We see more returning students really trying to come back to school while working full time that distance online gives them more flexibility," says Peterson. Over the past five years its become a part of the college landscape, Hartnell alone has seen a 63% increase in online class enrollment.
