Summer online learning classes draw students, officials say - JOHN D. HOMAN, THE SOUTHERN
John A. Logan College's summer term online enrollment has jumped 62 percent from last summer, from 832 to 1,349, college officials announced Monday. Tom Bell, associate dean for media services and telecommunications, said online enrollment will keep growing as long as classes are offered. "Some students take three or four classes online because of the convenience," he said. "Students are pleased to have the option of online classes. They take an online class and tell a friend about the positive experience. Word-of-mouth communication ensures the growth of online classes."
