Distance learning grows in popularity, rises 30% - Shreerupa Mitra, Financial Chronicle (India)
Satellite programmes or distance learning courses witnessed a 20-30 per cent rise in admission in 2008-09 compared with the year before. Their importance can be gauged by the rising number of institutes offering distance learning courses in India. Not only students, even working professionals have been enrolling for various degree or diploma programs to enhance their qualifications and skills.
