Conference on higher education concluded with Delhi Declaration and Statement on Online Learning
New Delhi: A two day Sub-regional Conference of South, South-West and Central Asia on Higher Education on the theme of "Facing Global and Local Challenges: The New Dynamics for Higher Education" was concluded here on 26 Februry at Vigyan Bhavan with the adoption of Delhi Declaration.... The New Delhi Declaration on Higher Education recognizes the potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the role of technologies for expanding access to higher education. It says that the traditional modes of imparting Open Distance Learning and traditional methods of on-campus teaching are being transformed by "e-learning" and "online" teaching methodologies.

It will be really helpful if universities like University of Illinois-Springfield can come up with ideas how to provide higher education to masses of young people in developing countries. Many developing countries are hungry to embrace online education if it is developed and implemented properly.
