NM students flock to online learning - The Associated Press
New Mexico Education Secretary Veronica Garcia says enrollment in the state's online learning system has exceeded expectations and her department is making new courses available.In the fall semester, more than 870 students from 46 school districts, nine charter schools, three private schools and a juvenile justice center signed up for courses on the Innovative Digital Education and Learning online system.Program officials initially had expected about 400 students to enroll.Thirty-six courses are available to New Mexico high school students. Each course is taught by a licensed teacher.
