Distance learning has solid higher ed option - Terre Haute Tribune-Star
Today two-thirds of all colleges and universities in the United States provide distance education for students, from single courses to complete degree programs. Devereaux’s home state of Georgia has a large public system, offering more than 100 distance degree programs. Thirty-five years ago, St. Mary-of-the-Woods College was a pioneer in distance education with its Woods External Degree program, which continues today to offer educational opportunities for adults not able to attend college during traditional class times.
