Youths motivated to learn from peers, adults online, study finds - JENNIFER DEAN, The Press-Enterprise
The Riverside Virtual School is working to give students the tools they'll need for life, including surfing the Web, networking, instant messaging and even socializing in chat rooms. Despite what parents might think, these kinds of studies might just put students ahead of the curve. A new study funded by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation found working with technology helps youths learn some of the basic social and technical skills they'll need to participate in contemporary society.
