Successful colleges are now reaping the benefits of technology - Public Technology
Staff in "e-confident" colleges cannot imagine life without technology, says a study published from Becta. Despite steady overall progress over the last five years, a significant proportion of further education colleges have been slow to embrace technology. Becta says there is real potential to learn from "e-confident" colleges - those with the capacity to make strategic and effective use of technology for the benefit of their students and staff. The report, Harnessing technology: Realising the benefits, identifies the key attributes of colleges with a reputation for embedding the use of technology in their organisation. Evidence was gathered from three colleges, Alton College, Newcastle College and St Helens College, to assess what lessons could be learned and transferred to encourage best practice and progress towards an "e-confident culture".
