Online learning classes become focus - Dave Aeikens, St. Cloud Times
Lori Hellerman of Melrose takes an advanced anatomy and physiology class from St. Cloud Technical College and never has to leave her home. The lectures, materials, visual aids and assignments are all available online. She spends three days a week and three or fours hours a day doing her schoolwork in hopes of someday becoming a sonographer or ultrasound technician. “I think it actually goes better than in class,” Hellerman said. “I spend more time on the material.” As the Technical College looks for ways to make its courses more accessible, it is putting a focus on online courses by piloting programs in certain subjects and putting resources online so students can access them on their own time without having to go to the school.
