Helping students meet today's challenges - William Kerr, Leader Times
As many of you know, globalization and emerging technologies are transforming the public school experience. Yesterday, Armstrong School District students competed against their fellow school classmates a few desks away. Today, they are competing against students from Germany, India, Korea, or China for everything from selective college admissions to the high-demand occupations of the future. I believe that we, as advocates for children and youth, have a moral and ethical obligation to help Armstrong School District students meet this challenge and thrive in the new, "flat" world where the global economic playing field has been leveled.
