BRCC receives a passing grade - Jennifer Heaslip, Hendersonville Times-News
Blue Ridge Community College was recommended for continued accreditation this week, after a team from the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools scrutinized the school in 72 areas.... The biggest change from the last 10-year review is the requirement that all institutions have a Quality Enhancement Program, which targets one specific area for study and improvement. At BRCC, administrators decided to focus on enhancing online learning, with a goal of increasing the number of students who complete Web courses. They plan to research why fewer students finish online classes than students in traditional classes, and develop a plan to increase the readiness and success rate of online course takers.
