Stratford students learning latin via online learning - RICHARD WEIZEL, Connecticut Post
Four students sitting in front of their computers in a class near the library's media center at Stratford High School wouldn't seem to be a particularly unusual sight in the 21st Century. But in this classroom there is no teacher. She's 1,500 miles away, sitting in her Fort Myers, Fla., condominium, with a view of the students on her computer, which she also uses as a virtual blackboard to teach Latin. The teacher, former school board member Susan Youngquist, came out of retirement two years ago to set up the Latin program at Stratford High School, but recently moved to Florida for the winters.
