Online learning growing at Delta Secondary - Sandor Gyarmati, The Delta Optimist
Entering his eighth year as principal at the Ladner high school, Ray Holme said with online courses students can take at home, as well as the ability to use a computer at school to take courses not normally available on site, today's learning as a big improvement over the older structured way of doing things, but he noted there are also some challenges that go along with it. "Education is really changing.... The high school is seeing more kids taking part in what's known as distributed learning, said Holme, which includes part-time students taking some courses at school and other courses online. The online courses are available through DeltaAccess or different school districts.
