STEM Education Goes to Mobile Online Learning and Exceeds 70,000 Registered Users
As of July 1, 2008, over 70,000 registered users have experienced mobile learning (mLearning) via interacting with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) educational modules during the Sports Bytes Competition. The goal of the Sports Bytes Competition is to facilitate on-demand STEM learning that is accessible via mobile phones. The Competition targets youth, between the elementary and high school grades, and seeks to spark their interest in the math and sciences; potentially influencing them to pursue higher education and careers in STEM disciplines. With over 60,000 registered users, the Competition is nearing its goal to reach 100,000 users who answer one question in a Sports Bytes module.
