Pupils making net gains with online learning - KAREN BURKE, Ilford Recorder
Children as young as four are learning lessons online and sharing their schoolwork with a worldwide audience as the technology boom mushrooms across Redbridge. Pupils have been reading books, writing stories and documenting their learning using virtual diaries, videos and audio files known as podcasts, on school internet forums. In the past eight months, 15 Redbridge primary schools have started writing virtual diaries or blogspots.
Gone are the days when a teacher and maybe mum or dad, would see a student's efforts. Now they can display it by uploading pictures, videos and text on to blogspots to be viewed by millions on the web.
