Connecting students to their culture through online learning - Chad Lovell, Honolulu Advertiser
"Distance learning is a wonderful way to learn. Take the chance - you won't regret it." That's the sentiment from Pomaikai McCandless, who's currently taking two courses offered by Kamehameha Schools' award-winning Ike Hawaii Distance Learning Program. A senior at Kealakehe High School in Kailua-Kona, McCandless has discovered numerous opportunities made possible through online learning. "Not only do they teach you about the class you are taking, but you learn computer skills, time management, your history, culture, and more," said McCandless. "Learning about my past would have to be my most favorite, and another benefit is meeting different people from different islands."
