Case study: The Open University - OpenLearn online learning website - Public Technology
"The Open University (OU) is the only UK university to give free access to its educational resources through a publicly accessible website. OpenLearn provides access to hundreds of OU courses through an open source virtual learning environment. Published under a Creative Commons license the materials are free to reuse and amend, enabling collaboration in the development of educational resources and outreach opportunities. National educational providers - including The Workers Educational Association, TUC/Unionlearn, University for industry, CfBt Education Trust and The National Institute for Adult Education - are using this unique resource to reduce barriers of access to education for all."
