Blended (onground and online learning) comes to Delhi University
Delhi University (DU) is collaborating with UK's Open University (OU), pioneers of distance learning, on a teacher-training programme. The project, funded by the UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI), aims to use the expertise of OU to help DU integrate technology in traditional teaching. UKIERI was launched in April 2006 to improve educational links between the two countries. The three main strands of the initiative are — higher education and research, schools, and professional and technical skills. The DU-OU project is the only one so far, approved by UKIERI, which is not a research project.
