Hit the books in your own backyard; Online learning expands in Algoma - Roxanne Leziert, Sault Star
Contact North, an access centre to college and university programs in Northern Ontario is now available. Susan Baltgailis, the on-site conference assistant here, offers assistance to the students as they need it. "A person who lives in Northern Ontario can earn their diploma, degree or a certificate without having to leave the community," said Baltgailis. Some universities from which courses can be attained are Lakehead, Laurentian and Nippissing. Colleges include Confederation, Northern, Cambrian and Sault College. Both day and night courses are available. "Students have the availability to talk directly with teachers and professors," Baltgailis said
