Technological innovation makes mandatory CLE a realistic goal - Natalie Fraser, Lawyers Weekly
Developments in online learning technology have spurred revolutionary advances in continuing legal education (CLE) in Canada, with mandatory CLE on the horizon based in part on easy access to online programs. Mandatory CLE will arrive in January of 2009 for all lawyers in B.C. Under the new program created by the Law Society of British Columbia, practising lawyers must complete at least 12 hours a year of approved educational activities.
