Online learning lets students learn anywhere - MARY GOLEM, Owen Sound Sun Times
It could be referred to as an e-volution in learning. Five online learning courses are being offered for the first time this semester to senior level students in Bluewater district secondary schools. Last Friday, the first day of the second semester, senior level students from Chesley, Peninsula Shores and Walkerton schools gathered in Chesley for an introduction to their e-learning journey. "E-learning gives you the opportunity to learn anywhere, anytime," one of the course facilitators, Cory Munro of the Chesley District High School teaching staff, told the 50 or so students in attendance. "Whether learning in the classroom or online, the workload and expectations remain the same," he said, pointing out the students' responsibilities for regular attendance, taking exams, "as well as exercising the self-discipline to work independently."
