No classroom time required: Online Learning - Jeff Shaffer, Standard-Journal
Milton Area High School business teacher Donna Spear remembers a time when her students mashed away at typewriters during her classes. Now it’s come to a point when the students don’t even have to be in the classroom to get their fill of economics, marketing, management and the like. Spear is somewhat of a pioneer for the area. After seeing online learning progress at the college level and at high schools in other parts of the country, Spear sought the permission of district officials and launched the school’s first online learning class this fall. The 24-year classroom veteran said she spent last school year planning her online introduction to business class.
