District makes plans for online learning virtual classroom - HILARY BENTMAN, The Intelligencer
In the not-so-distant future, students in Upper Bucks could be taking online learning classes on how to invest in the stock market, speak Mandarin Chinese, or spend a virtual semester at sea. It's all part of a plan called “Tomorrow Today” to prepare students for the 21st century world they are about to enter. As early as next school year, administrators in the Quakertown Community School District are hoping to begin offering a program known as Virtual High School, which allows students to take online learning classes in subjects and electives they would never ordinarily be exposed to.
