Outgoing director lauds distance learning technology is tops - Karl Anderson, Alamogordo Daily News
Distance learning is the biggest piece of technology that Alamogordo Public Schools should be proud of says Tony Korwin, the outgoing director of Technology Support Services for APS. For instance, at Alamogordo High School, the French class is being taught via online learning over the Internet. At Mountain View Middle School, algebra is taught via online learning over the Internet to students at Holloman Middle School, where there is no algebra teacher. At Chaparral Middle School, a student is being taught geometry from Oregon State University. And students at Holloman and Chaparral middle schools are taught Spanish by a teacher in Virginia who is furnished through Oregon State.
