Local college touts its degree program - BOB AUDETTE, Reformer
The course is meant to appeal to those who have a strong commitment to issues of diversity and have an awareness of social justice, said Lax, the director of Union's new Doctor of Psychology curriculum. The course work also helps students to examine their own biases and prejudices, he said, so that they can help others address the issues that are affecting their lives. Much of the coursework is online or through distance online learning, but students must also attend classes in the Marlboro Technical Center on a regular basis. "There are very few programs that offer a combination of family and clinical psychology," said Lax. "We have one of the few that is offering it in this manner with this quality of faculty."
