Virtual schools offer flexible education - Sarah Horner, Duluth News Tribune
Ask Hannah Johnson what she’s learning in social studies, and the 13-year-old rattles off information about the Battle of Bunker Hill and the role women played in the American Revolution. Ask her what her teacher looks like, and she shrugs. “I’ve never actually met him in person,” Hannah, from Duluth, said. Hannah Johnson practices ballet moves Thursday afternoon at her home in Duluth. Johnson is enrolled in MTS Minnesota Connections Academy, a virtual school that allows her to study at home. That’s because Hannah — along with her two older sisters — is enrolled in MTS Minnesota Connections Academy, a virtual school that requires students to show up online instead of reporting to a school building.
