Virtual classroom part of leukemia treatment for 8-year-old girl - The Associated Press
Technology is helping 8-year-old Emily Stapleton finally participate in class activities with other children her age - from her own bedroom. Stapleton has been unable to attend school in person since kindergarten. She has a heightened susceptibility to illness after leukemia treatment. But, through a fiber-optic connection, she now can participate in classes at Oakview Elementary School remotely. She was previously home-schooled to avoid germs at school.
