Official Highlights Use of Information Technologies in Fighting Poverty - Angola Press
Angolan minister of Post-Office and Telecommunications, LicĂnio Tavares, Wednesday in Luanda said that the use of information technologies at various social sectors will guarantee a harmonious sustainable growth of the country, and assist in the fight against poverty.... The Linux system, also dubbed "Angolalinux", was presented at the exhibition being attended by 32 companies of the sector. The system will be used in public administration, schools and by individuals, in an open system and free of charge. Another programme presented at the exhibition was the "E-learning" platform for distance learning, which aims at training civil servants without them having to leave their work posts, thus reducing training and travelling costs.
