Anne Arundel Community College Looks to the Future - EARL KELLY, Annapolis Capital Online
AACC is constantly expanding and adjusting its offerings. Last year, it became the first community college in the state to offer a degree in counterterrorism and homeland security, and next year, the college will add an honors program designed to give students greater flexibility in designing their curriculum. In July, the college hired a dean of the Virtual Campus, to help expand the college's distance learning process. College officials said the emphasis on online learning is not just a response to the space shortage, but is in keeping with modern trends. Many AACC students hold one or more jobs, and would prefer to spend as little time as possible commuting.
