More students logging on for class - Encarnacion Pyle, COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Judy Baldwin hasn't taught in 25 years, but she wanted to keep her teaching certificate valid just in case she felt the calling again. That meant she had to go back to school. Because she has a full-time job, she expected to be limited to either night or weekend classes. Then Baldwin considered Columbus State Community College's online program. The 60-year-old South Side resident didn't grow up with computers. Still, she thought, why not? "I had such a goofy, romanticized vision of what an online class would be like," said Baldwin, who works for Franklin County as a career coach. "If it hadn't been for my professor's encouragement and gentle guidance, I might not have made it. But it's going great now."
