Online class a choice at schools - GRETYL MACALASTER, Democrat
High school students will now have more than one choice for online learning with the creation of New Hampshire's first online charter high school and the district's recent partnership with Virtual High School Global Consortium based in Maynard, Mass. Virtual High School was the pioneer in online high school education 10 years ago, but as technology has continued to improve, so has the variety of online educational opportunities. "When VHS first started 10 years ago, it used to be that we were one of the only online course providers. Today, Granite State schools have a number of different options to choose from," Liz Pape, President and CEO of VHS, said. Up to 25 Portsmouth students can enroll to take an online course that may not be available at Portsmouth High School or may not fit into a student's daily class schedule.
