Internet Law: E-Learning under French Law - Internet Business Law Services
E-Learning, which is the learning process created by combining digitally delivered content with learning support and services, offers interesting development perspectives in Europe. Under French law, E-learning falls under the legislation related to distance learning. E-learning covers a large set of applications and processes, such as Web-based learning, computer-based learning, virtual classrooms, and digital collaboration. It includes the delivery of content via the Internet, intranet, audio and videotapes, satellite broadcasts, interactive TV, and CD-ROM. Under French law, e-learning is regulated by the law of July 12, 1971 on distance learning, by the law of July 16, 1971 on professional training and the Administrative Paper (“Circulaire”) from the Ministry of Employment of July 20, 2001 on distance learning. On the European level, e-learning is regulated by the Council Resolution of 13 July 2001 on e-learning.
