Open-Source IT Leadership for Web 2.0 - Lev Gonick, EDUCAUSE Review
Three years ago, when we provided ubiquitous wireless networking across the campus of Case Western Reserve University, we thought we had hit a high mark in terms of serving the needs of our students. After all, when we asked students why they had applied to Case Western, 38 percent of them cited our technology capabilities. Boy, were we wrong. When I introduced myself to the incoming students this year and touted this capability, they responded with a blank, disdainful, what-have-you-done-for-us-lately stare. To them, wireless is digital oxygen. They simply expect it to be there.
