Online school an idea whose time has come - Nashua Telegraph
BACKGROUND: Enrollment will begin next month for the Virtual Learning Academy, an online charter school that was approved by the state Board of Education last May.
CONCLUSION: While the concept will face plenty of logistical challenges, this innovative approach to education has much potential for students across the state. At first glance, the idea of an online charter school for New Hampshire students may seem a bit radical and maybe a bit gimmicky; in this mad rush to buy into the Life 2.0, have we gone too far too fast? We don't think so. It's radical, maybe. But then again, students will be confronting a radically different economy and work environment than did the people who developed current classroom paradigms. Maybe radical is just what we need to help students ready themselves for the creative economy.
