Adriana stares at the Mexican government Web site to figure out her social studies homework for the week. Only she's no longer toting her backpack to class in her Mexican hometown – she's perched on top of a stool in downtown Santa Ana, signing up for her classes with a mouse click. "I'm here to move forward, to make something of my life," said Adriana, who was forced to quit high school in Mexico when her father brought her to live in Orange County. "I want to feel proud." Mexico's online high school program, or bachillerato, is designed for students in Mexico who work to support their families or resume their studies as adults. But it is also proving useful for students like Adriana who cut their education short to migrate to the United States.
