Classroom of the future - Katie Wilson, Times West Virginian
Marion County Schools have taken a leap into the 21st Century with a new distance learning program. Students at West Fairmont Middle School and Fairmont Senior High School are learning French at the same time without ever leaving their respective campuses. Last year, state-of-the-art distance learning labs were installed at East Fairmont and North Marion high schools as well as FSHS. The new WFMS was built with one. Each lab includes digital video cameras, computers, audio equipment and large-screen, flat panel television sets. Now, students at FSHS and WFMS are the first in the county to take a class in virtual reality.
