Florida's students are opting more and more for the convenience of online courses - DENNIS WALL, ORLANDO SENTINEL
At last count, about 13,000 students at state universities across Florida were seeking degrees but rarely -- if ever -- stepping foot on campus. That might seem to be a big number, but State University System officials say they are eager to expand Florida's inventory of online-education offerings as students looking for a convenient way to earn a degree -- not to mention escape crowded classrooms and campus traffic jams -- flock to distance-learning courses.
