District plans changes to improve online program - ARBARA MILLEROf, Patriot-News
The Palmyra Area School District reported mixed success with its version of an online school last year but hopes to improve and expand it as an alternative to for-profit cyberschools. The 24 students enrolled in Blendedschools.net last year in Palmyra passed 49 courses and failed 37. But after one year of operation, district officials said they are committed to improving the program's use and see it as a way to meet the increasingly varied needs of students while saving taxpayers money.
