Virtual Academy to be expanded - Will Klusener, Manhattan Kansas Mercury
The Manhattan/Ogden School Board in a 7-0 vote on Wednesday ratified the proposed expansion of the Manhattan/Ogden Virtual Academy. The academy is a program that offers online classes to students who are not able to take them at the Manhattan High School. The district will enter a contract with K.C. Distance Learning, the company the district has been in talks with that will administer the program. District estimates say the program would likely be utilized by 20-30 full-time "virtual students," and 100-200 part-time students. According to district figures, currently 16 full-time students and 35 total students take online courses through the district.
