College is tough, and for the nontraditional student, the experience is grueling when a job and commuting take up so much precious time. Luckily, many local colleges are recognizing this need and offering alternatives to traditional college programs. Marist College, Bard College, the State University of New York at New Paltz, Empire State College, Dutchess and Ulster community colleges all offer programs to ease the burden on students.
