Web courses for electronics industry - Yorkshire Evening Post
As part of Electronics Yorkshire's support for the region's electronics industry, the Leeds organisation has introduced a series of online learning courses. The new facility on Electronics Yorkshire's revamped website allows users to access industry-focused training courses online. It gives them the flexibility to study when and where they want. Courses currently available include Lead-Free Soldering and Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Awareness. The Soldering course introduces production staff to the key issues associated with two new pieces of legislation, the RoHS (Restriction of use of certain Hazardous Substances) and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directives. The ESD course explains what it is and what steps can be taken to eliminate the damage it causes.
