Virtual High School classes open - Jon Walker, Argus Leader
Teenagers may now hop online to earn credit for studying in cyberspace. The South Dakota Virtual High School began accepting registrations this week for students hoping to round out their education as they sit at a keyboard. The program is set up to help students who have scheduling conflicts, want advanced study or live in a town where a class isn't taught. "When a district doesn't have a physics teacher or a French teacher, this is a chance to offer the course," said Mary Stadick Smith, communications director for the Department of Education.
