Twenty years ago, Florencia Aguilar couldn't afford the tuition to go to high school in her native Mexico. Now, at 38 years old, she's getting her chance and learning valuable computer skills -- for free. Aguilar and 34 other immigrants signed up for Lake Elsinore Unified School District's Plaza Comunitaria, free online classes that the Mexican government provides in Spanish twice a week through June for Latino immigrant parents who want to finish school. Not only is she getting a free education, which supporters hope will translate into better grades for her three children, she is learning computer skills she hopes to one day convert into an office job. There are similar classes throughout the state, but Lake Elsinore's classes are the first in the Inland area to offer total Internet-based learning.
