Nursing shortage demands more teachers, new courses - Linda Thompson Adams, Detroit News
First, nursing programs must be competency-based. Students should not be evaluated in relation to their peers, but by how well they perform an objective such as inserting an IV. Second, we must help students identify pathways that will allow them to advance their careers based on their individual preferences and abilities. Third, nursing programs must harness new technology. New online learning modules are able to engage learners interactively and provide simulated clinical experiences.
