At-risk program could be a star - ROB NOVIT, Aiken Standard
During his career John Samuels served as an executive assistant for former Westinghouse Savannah River Company Ambrose Schwallie in the mid-1990s. He later founded a Greensboro, N.C.-based company called Synergem Emergency Services and still remains heavily involved in it.... If the program does start in 2008 as planned, the seventh-graders in 2007-2008 would get the opportunity to move directly to high school to a self-contained, alternative ninth-grade program. The students would be immersed in an accelerated and self-paced, online learning environment. They would also get group instruction and one-on-one attention from teachers hired specifically for the academy.
